We are proud to be working with Trees Not Tees, giving our participants the option to plant a tree instead of receiving an official event T-Shirt.

When signing up, participants will be able to choose whether they want an official T-Shirt or if they would prefer to have a tree planted by Trees Not Tees instead. Brighton Trail Weekend will pay for a tree to be planted in place of providing a T-Shirt. Or, if you would like to plant a tree and still receive a T-Shirt, you can do so by making a small contribution of £5 to Trees not Tees.

WHY PLANT A TREE INSTEAD?

The environmental cost of making a T-shirt is huge. It takes the same amount of water that a person drinks in 2.5 years to make a single cotton T-shirt, plus over 2kg of carbon. If it’s never even worn, all of those precious resources were spent for nothing.

Equally, the environmental benefit of planting a tree is huge. It helps us fight against climate change by taking carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere, it provides a home for a diverse range of species, and it gives us clean air to breath.
