Spectator & Event Guide 2022

There are only a few spectator points along the marathon and 10k course that offer the chance to cheer runners on.

Please note that we are asking spectators to try and avoid some points on the course according to private land and restrictions in place.

The Start of Brighton Trail Marathon

East Brighton Park

Spectators and supporters can come and see their runners off at the start of Brighton Trail Marathon. It would be advisable to park in the Brighton Marina parking sites and walk over to the park. There will not be parking at East Brighton Park.

You will still have time after your runners start to get to the Event Village and the Finish in Stanmer Park by driving or catching a bus or train from Brighton. Please see below for more info.

Tap in the postcode BN25UT for Sat-Nav directions to the multi-story car park at the Marina. Alternatively head to the City Centre Seafront & turn left onto A259.

The Start (and Finish) of Brighton Trail 10k and Brighton Trail Kids

Stanmer Park

Spectators and supporters can come and see their runners off at the start of Brighton Trail 10k and watch the Kids races in Stanmer Park.

Parking is limited within the park upon entry so we do advise travelling in by bus or train to Falmer Station and walking across. You can also book our parking at the AMEX.

Across the marathon and 10k routes

Your are welcome to spectate at any point on the marathon or 10k routes you can comfortably access, but please DO NOT go to Aid Station 2 / Housedean Farm / Bunkers Hill part of the marathon route. There is no available parking here and out of respect for local residents we ask you do not visit this location.

Ditchling Beacon

Highest point of the marathon course

Come and be a part of a Tour De France style cheering zone up the infamous Ditchling Beacon! We want you cheering your runners on here as they tackle the hardest part of their marathon.

We have worked with Brighton & Hove Buses to provide an increased bus service on event day on BUS 79 which serves stops between Ditchling Beacon (Upper Lodges Car Park) and the Old Steine in the city Centre. General public/supporters can catch these buses with a paying ticket. Times for these buses will be every half hour. Please check the Brighton & Hove Bus Company website for the most up to date travel information and full timetables.

The Ditchling Bostall (from Underhill Lane) and Ditchling Road (from Upper Lodges Car Park) will be closed to normal traffic, so please do not try to drive to Ditchling Beacon.

There will be some very limited parking at Upper Lodges Car Park, which is walkable to Ditchling Beacon, but we expect this to go quickly so recommend using public transport.

To get to the Event Village from the Beacon, you can then get the bus to the Upper Lodges Car Park and walk the 20 minute walk to Stanmer Park.

The Finish / Event Village in Stanmer Park

The Event Village in Stanmer Park is the home straight where our runners will be making their way to the finish line. Head here to give them a final boost as they reach the end of their journey and meet them in the Event Village after their run. Bring a picnic or purchase food and drinks from our vendors.

Don’t forget your essentials such as camping chairs, rugs and even your gazebo if you want!
