Trail stories: why Charlie runs

By 23rd May 2022

“I had cancer in the lungs and a left hip replacement. I ran the London Marathon raising money for Children with Cancer and used the training as a way of regaining my strength and fitness.

I also wanted to show that you can recover from anything. I always love to set myself a goal ! And last year completed my first Ultra!

I love trail running…the unexpected terrain, scenery and the challenges it throws at you. So next year I’m taking part in the Centurion to raise money for Children with Cancer and raise cancer awareness again.

I’m using the Brighton Trail 10k as part of my preparation for the Centurion.

Taking on these challenges is my way of showing that you can recover from anything as long as you have faith, belief and motivation. I love trails and I can’t wait to display these qualities at Brighton Trail Weekend!”

We always want to hear from our participants to share their stories and help inspire others.
